Reflections on Fatherhood, Family, and the Gift of the Present
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of moments that really put life into perspective. As a father, husband, brother, son, and business leader, I wear a lot of hats—but it's the personal roles that have resonated most deeply with me lately.
We recently celebrated my grandpop’s 94th birthday, surrounded by family. What a blessing it is to still have him with us, and how incredibly fortunate my kids are to have a great-grandfather in their lives—something I never had. It made me realize how lucky we are to experience those connections across generations. It's a gift.
And then there was Father’s Day, marked simply by time spent at home, by the pool, watching my kids laugh and play. My happy, healthy family all together—it doesn't get better than that. It was a day of reflection for me, one where I was reminded of what truly matters. As much as we strive for the big things—success, growth, accolades—the magic is often in the small moments.
I love the saying, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift—that’s why it's called the present.” It really resonates with me now more than ever. Being present is something I’ve come to value deeply. As a business owner, it’s not easy to switch off from work. We often get consumed by the demands of the job, thinking about the future, chasing the next goal. But the future isn't guaranteed. What we have is right now, and if we’re not fully present, we miss the moments that truly matter.
And I’m learning that those moments, however small, are the ones that make life truly meaningful.
